Our brief was to launch and embed Spintelligent’s WAPIC (West African Power Industry Convention) conference brand in Nigeria. Increase region-wide delegate attendance and reach out and develop relationships with the Nigerian stakeholders. I led a team 6 in logistics, marketing, sponsorship and delegate sales to deliver a 3 day conference with 400 attendees; 45 speakers and 25 sponsors. 20% increase in delegate attendance; established stakeholder relationships in the region with Ministries, CEOs of key electricity providers, sponsors and local media partners; created the Large Power Users Focus Day and Awards Dinner.

Michelle Fanus has worked for Spintelligent PTY as a Conference Producer from 20 May 2011 until November 2012. In this role, she has specifically worked on some of our most prestigious power and infrastructure development products. These products are the East African Power industry conference (EAPIC) and the same for West Africa (WAPIC).
Her role has not only been to create the multi stream programmes for each of the events, to validate the commerciality of the streams created and of course to invite world renowned speakers. Further the role we asked of her was to brief the Sales and Marketing teams and to write the promotional copy for both disciplines. Ultimately her role was to provide the magnet for successful delegate attendance and to provide the platform for sponsorship growth.

Hotel Technology Europe, 2014. This was a 2nd annual Centaur Media exhibition for the European Hospitality sector. The 2013 launch event produced lower than expected visitor numbers and poor attendance of the seminar programme, however, it was realised that the event could grow to full potential by delivering a stronger education programme. Using robust research methods, we discovered what the market wanted and who they wanted to hear it from. An Advisory Board was put in place to verify and validate our research. We successfully designed x10 sessions with leading speakers and facilitators that were well received. Visitor numbers increased by 30% and all seminar attendance was considerably higher – with standing room only!
